I feel so fortunate to have landed here.  The family has built a truly remarkable business and is fantastic to work for.  Although the business has been around for over 35 years, it almost feels like working for a startup with our ambitious plans for the future and the next generation of Dharods active in the business and playing a critical role in our growth and success.  The family has big dreams, a focused, vision, and a lot of capital to deploy to achieve these goals. It’s been a blast being a part of the team and helping them execute.  They have empowered me with the tools, autonomy, and the belief in me that I need to execute their vision and be successful at my job, so I really couldn’t ask for more.  We are hungry, focused and on the cusp of much bigger things.  The ball is in our court.

I have worked with the Friendly Franchisees Corporation since 2008, and it has been a great experience thus far. I’ve worked across various departments within the company from the store and District Management level to joining the Corporate Office team. The company has grown not only in the Fast-Food Industry but has expanded tremendously in the Real Estate division with many great acquisitions. The company’s entrepreneurial mentality has a direct positive impact on the day-to-day operations, and it is very empowering. Teamwork is the backbone of this company and, I just love what I do every single day.

I have been with the company since October of 2005 – nearly 16 years. During this time, I have served in multiple roles, primarily as General Counsel and now CEO of the Carl’s Jr. Restaurants division.  The company has grown tremendously during my years here, both in restaurants and with the creation and exponential growth of our real estate portfolio.  I take pride in being part of the senior leadership of both the restaurant and real estate divisions.  We have created many opportunities for employees to learn and grow with the company, with many of them moving into ownership roles.  Company ownership, under Harshad Dharod, has instilled an entrepreneurial spirit at all levels of the company – that spirit, dedication, and work ethic have been the key drivers enabling the company to grow over the years. 

When you work hard and keep working, you will be successful in this company. Harshad has trusted me and holds me accountable. For me, staying with one company for more than 20 years encouraged long term growth and great relationships between company and staff. With this, I have been able to become a front-line team member in a company. Over the years I’ve enjoyed working for FFC as they have always supported learning opportunities, from internal training and development to entrepreneurial roles that we can learn for our professional growth. Top level management does an excellent job of rewarding and recognizing team members who surpass expectations. I feel very blessed to work for FFC because it is a great organization with great values and unmatched teamwork.
